A collector coin paying tribute to Finland’s nature will be launched on 18 September. The coin is part of the Finland 100 programme celebrating the centenary of Finland’s independence. Its design is based on the winning shot in the Blue and White special category of the Nature Photograph of the Year contest.

The full moon on the lighthouse island of Harmaja, a crow gazing from its perch – the design of the Finnish Nature collector coin is based on the winning shot in the Blue and White special category of the Nature Photograph of the Year contest. The winning photograph was shot by Kari Auvinen.

The crow symbolises the modern Finnish character – an outwardly common but intelligent bird that reacts flexibly to new situations.

This commemorative coin with a nominal value of EUR 10 is packaged in a clear protective casing, set in a commemorative coin box. The commemorative coin’s technical specifications are also printed on the box.

The maximum mintage of the proof-quality EUR 10 silver Finnish nature commemorative coin is 10,000, and 100 coins will be numbered. The number is stamped on the coin’s reverse, and the numbered coins will be mixed into the mintage at random.

This silver coin struck in Mint of Finland’s factory in Vantaa is a part of the Finland 100 programme of the centennial year of Finland’s independence. The commemorative coin has been granted the Key Flag Label of the Association for Finnish Work.
