Delivery terms of Mint of Finland's webshop

1 General information about the webshop

The webshop’s products are sold by Mint of Finland Ltd, business ID 0912125-5. We sell products to individuals aged 18 or more and to companies in Finland and abroad. The prices of products include VAT. We reserve the right to make changes to prices and delivery fees.

2 Ordering

The products are ordered online, using the shopping basket at www.suomenrahapaja.fi. When placing an order, the customer accepts the delivery terms valid at the time. All orders will be confirmed by e-mail. Receiving an order confirmation requires entering the customer’s e-mail address when placing the order. If you have not received an order confirmation on the same day you placed your order, please contact the Mint of Finland’s customer service without delay.

3 Order confirmation

The order confirmation contains the following information:

  •    The order number
  •    The contact details provided by the customer
  •    The names and prices of the products ordered, and a VAT itemisation
  •    Delivery fees and the total sum of the invoice
  •    The estimated delivery time and contact details of the Mint of Finland web shop

The order confirmation also serves as a receipt for the payment transaction. Changes made to the order after the order confirmation has been received will be subject to a EUR 7 processing fee.

If the customer has selected an invalid delivery method for the order, Mint of Finland will cancel the order. Our customer service will then contact the customer to agree on returning the sum paid for the order and provide instructions for placing a new order.

3 Payment methods

You will pay for the products and delivery charges when you confirm your order.

For payments made with Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Diners Club and JCB cards, the vendor will be Paytrail Plc, and the transaction will be between Paytrail Plc and the customer. The vendor is responsible for all obligations related to the transaction. Paytrail Plc will also be the recipient of the payment.

The following payment methods are available to consumers:

Nordea, Osuuspankki, Danske Bank, POP Pankit, Nooa, Aktia, Säästöpankit, S-Pankki, Handelsbanken, Ålandsbanken and Tapiola Pankki bank transfers and credit cards (Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Diners Club and JCB), Paypal and, for consumers residing in Finland, Collector Bank and Finvoice.

Refunds and returns to customers are provided through our payment service provider, Paytrail. If a customer does not wish to use the Paytrail service and wants Mint of Finland to return the funds directly to the customer’s account, we will charge a fee of EUR 7 for this service. The fee will be deducted from the sum returned to the customer.

The following payment methods are available to retailers:

Nordea, Osuuspankki, Danske Bank, POP Pankit, Nooa, Aktia, Säästöpankit, S-Pankki, Handelsbanken, Ålandsbanken and Tapiola Pankki bank transfers, Paypal and credit cards (Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Diners Club and JCB).

Registered retailers can also pay by invoice if agreed. You will be directed to the website of Paytrail Plc (formerly Suomen Verkkomaksut Ltd) to make the payment.

For corporate customers who pay with Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Diners Club or JCB cards, Mint of Finland Ltd will only serve as the marketer of the products and services and deliver the products to the buyer. Paytrail Plc (formerly Suomen Verkkomaksut Ltd) will handle any complaints.

Online banks

The payment and financing services related to online payments are implemented by Paytrail Plc (2122839-7) in cooperation with Finnish banks and credit institutions. Paytrail Plc purchases the payment and settles it with the vendor. For the user, the service is identical to traditional online payments.

5 Delivery time

We send products every business day. As a rule, products will be sent by post within 1-2 business days, and no later than in five working days from receipt of the order. If some of the products you ordered have not been released yet, all products in the order will be posted within five business days of the release date.

Please note that Posti will keep your package at the post office for 7 days. We recommend subscribing to Posti’s arrival notices by SMS or e-mail. If you order the arrival notice by post, please note that the delivery time of the letter will be deducted from the pick-up time of the packages.

6 Delivery methods

We deliver our products by post via Posti or UPS.

When you order products to a Finnish address, we will deliver the products to your nearest post office. Once your package has arrived, Posti will send you an arrival notice by letter. You can then pick the delivery up at the post office.

Our customer service will be happy to provide you with Posti’s tracking code, which you can use to track the progress of your package in Posti’s service. Please contact our customer service at info@mint.fi if we can be of assistance.

7 Acceptance of deliveries

Check the delivery before signing for it.

Do not accept a damaged delivery and notify the driver/supplier/clerk.

If you have accepted a damaged delivery, do not open the package, and notify the carrier and Mint of Finland immediately.

7.1 If a domestic delivery is not claimed (in Finland)

If the customer does not pick the delivery up from Posti or notify Mint of Finland of cancelling the order, the order will be returned to Mint of Finland as an unclaimed delivery. Mint of Finland’s customer service will then make one attempt to reach the customer by telephone or e-mail, depending on the contact details provided by the customer. Customer service will ask the customer whether he or she still wants the delivery or should it be cancelled, in which case the customer may be required to provide a bank account number for the refund.

If customer service is able to contact the customer and he or she wants the order delivered again, a delivery fee of EUR 7 will be added to the price of the order. The delivery fee will be charged cash on delivery when the customer picks the order up.

If customer service is unable to contact the customer, the products included in the delivery will be reclaimed by Mint of Finland. Such products can be sold to other customers in two months (60 days) of the delivery’s return. If the customer contacts Mint of Finland after this two-month period to request redelivery of the order, Mint of Finland cannot guarantee availability. If the product is unavailable, the customer will be asked to provide an account number for refunding the price of the products paid by the customer, minus the delivery fee of the returned delivery, which will not be reimbursed.

If the customer has ordered products cash on delivery through Mint of Finland’s customer service and the unclaimed delivery is returned to Mint of Finland, the returned delivery will be kept ready for redelivery for two weeks (14 days). If the customer contacts Mint of Finland’s customer service within this two-week period to request redelivery, a delivery fee of EUR 7 in addition to the original delivery fee will be added to the price of the order. If the customer does not contact Mint of Finland in two weeks from the order’s return, the order will be cancelled. Customers who want their products after this must place a new order, and Mint of Finland cannot guarantee availability.

7.2. If an international delivery is not claimed

If an order paid for in the Mint of Finland webshop and delivered abroad is not claimed, it will be returned to Mint of Finland and cancelled.

Mint of Finland’s customer service will then make one attempt to reach the customer at the contact details indicated by him or her, by telephone or e-mail, and ask the customer’s bank account number for refunding the order. The delivery fee for the returned order will be deducted from the refund.

Customers who want their products after all must place a new order, and Mint of Finland cannot guarantee availability.

8 Delivery fees

Our delivery fees include postage and packing.

The delivery fee will be determined by the delivery method and destination of the products.

The delivery fee for domestic orders delivered by Posti is EUR 7 and that of international deliveries EUR 20. The prices of UPS deliveries are determined by the country of destination and weight of the shipment. The detailed pricing applied by UPS is presented in this list.

The customer is responsible for any customs duties levied for international shipments. Customs practices vary greatly between countries. Please contact your country’s customs officials if necessary.

9 Exchange and return terms for consumers

Consumers have the 14-day right of exchange and return provided for in the Finnish Consumer Protection Act. The right of return only applies to unused, fit for sale products returned in their original package.

You can use the enclosed cancellation form to make the return, but it is not mandatory. Once the return has been approved, we will return your money after the return delivery has been received and processed.

Refunds to customers are provided through our payment service provider, Paytrail. Delivery fees will not be refunded.

Returning and exchanging products in Finland:

  1. The returned product must be unused and in its original package. Please remember to return all parts of the product (including the certificate of authenticity).
  2. Complete the return notification in the covering letter and enclose it with the return package. Remember to state your bank account number.
  3. Return the product in the envelope in which you received the delivery. You will not be required to pay postage for the return. Address the envelope as follows:

The right of exchange and return provided for in the Consumer Protection Act does not apply to corporate customers.

10 Force majeure

Mint of Finland Ltd will not be liable for damages incurred due to force majeure. Force majeure refers to unanticipated developments or changes in circumstances beyond the control of Mint of Finland Ltd. Mint of Finland is obligated to notify the customer of force majeure without delay.

11 Additional terms for corporate customers

Mint of Finland Ltd will not be liable for direct or indirect losses, damages or lost profits caused by the product and/or agreement and/or delay. Mint of Finland Ltd’s liability for the delivery is limited to the return of the possible sales price for defective products and is valid for a maximum of 6 months from the date of the order.

Mint of Finland Ltd reserves the right to require retailers to agree on separate retail terms with Mint of Finland Ltd.
